Hi, i have been trying to research the biggest tire you can fit under a b-body. I do want bigger and taller than a 275/60/15. So far i have, that if you want a 295/50/15 you have to roll the fenders? but i have heard some of the super bees fit them no problem. But i have thought about a 295/65/15 which wont be as wide and will be a taller tire so it will help my 3.91 gear out on the hwy etc. Let me know what you think, and my wheel size is a 15x8 with a 4 1/2 backing spacing. I have stock spring location and a 8 3/4 moser axles. Thanks!

Here is some info on the tire that im looking at. Mickey Thompson 3762R

Tire Compound: R2
Tire Overall Diameter: 30.0''
Average Roll Out/
Circumference: 94''
Tire Tread Width: 10.9''
Tire Section Width: 11.9''
Wheel Diameter: 15''
Spec Wheel Width: 8.5''

What backspacing on the rim due you have?

who makes that size tire (295/65/15)? I searched and couldnt find any...

The 295/50 is only 26.6" tall, so is alot shorter than you are looking for. The 295 series are 11.6" wide. Doesn't matter if they are 50 or 65 sidewall profile, still should be the same width.

I think your 15x8 is going to be too narrow for a 295. I am running a 295/50 and have them on 10" wide wheels, just think 8 will look strange. There was a '69 RR in Car Craft a few years ago running 295/60 Mickeys. My brother and I saw the car at the Car Craft Summer Nationals and talked to the owner. As I remember, he didn't have the springs relocated or mini tubbed. Might have had a little rubbing when hitting big bumps or with passengers. Don't know what his backspacing was. You would have to measure to be sure, most likely will require a custom built wheel.
Here is the link to the RR I was talking about.

My Super Bee has 295 /65/15 BFG drag T/A on a 15x8 Weld Drag-Lite, Mopar Performance Hemi springs with no problems.

Mickey Thompson 3762R for RH62 member. And my back spacing is 4.250. I have decided to go with a 295/55/15 for more tread with, part number for that is 3755r mickey thompson. Thanks guys. And beezee i saw your car. Looks like you have no problems at all!
