3-Doors Down ('63 Plymouth Savoy)

I spotted this car at a local cruise in/show. Originally a /6, three on the tree, rubber floor mat car. I've never seen a 3-door car before. The current owner said it may have been designed/used as a taxi cab, but has no documentation as to it's origin. Has anyone seen cars like this? Factory? Custom? Any details?

It is a mind blower for sure.
