324 heads

I am rebuilding a 1963 383. It has Early 324 heads with aluminum rocker stands.

I was wondering if anyone here has used these heads with a hydraulic roller cam and adjustable rocker arms?

You would certainly think some of the Max Wedge boys have done it....or at least with very similar heads with the aluminum stands.

915 or 906 Heads with the built in pedestals
flow way better and usually are easy to findI have 20
sets in the shop and generallyonly $150 a set or so most places.
Might be easier and better way
to go unless you need to keep it original.

I wouldn't use them
aren't the intake valves too small?

I'd use some modern aluminum heads especially in a roller cam setup

Specs are 2.08 intake 1.74 exhaust with a 75cc closed chamber.
I know there are better performance heads available.
My question is more about if they will work with modern roller rockers.
I know that the early max wedge cars had similar rocker design and many ran over .500” lift.

I ran crane golds on a 286 MW head. Worked great. 7400 RPM.
