383 exhaust size

I have a 69 Roadrunner with a stock 383. What is the actual size of the exhaust down pipes? I have searched but can't find a number. My mufflers are blown out and leaking so I'm planning on going to 2 1/2" front to back this summer.

Tailpipes 2 1/4". I let Dave Walden at ECS use my 383 OE headpipes to make their jig set up, to reproduce them exactly.

383 cars had 2 1/4" head pipes, and 440 cars had 2 1/2" .

And 2 1/2" pipes fit on the stock 383 manifolds, right?

Yes but the outlet of the manifold will be a little lower on a 383 since the block is not as tall.
The manifolds are the same.
