I am converting a 68 Coronet to 4 speed, I have most of the parts but need a photo showing how the factory cut the floor before the tunnel (hump) tacks on. I know about being careful with the crossmember, and that it isnt cut to full size of hump. I see lots of pics of topside with hump installed, but nothing showing floor hole, please help. Much appreciated.

Put the 4 speed jump on the floor. Trace it. Now from that line come in 3/4” and that is you cut line. Do shallow cuts near the tb cross member. Now check fit, happy? Weld in it in! Done, enjoy a beer for a job well done.

Agreed^^^ The hump will only sit in nice in one spot. I've seen a few factory holes cut pretty sloppy, so nothing you do will be any worse then the way they did it.

Here is my 68 coronet.

In the first pic, you can see the outline and the cut line that 5.7 was talking about

Also, I used JB weld epoxy to attach the AMD shifter hump. It’s not structural, so instead of welding it in, I epoxied it. The thought was, if I (or a future owner) wanted to convert it back to a column auto, they could remove it and weld in the floor part I cut out.
