Have my eye on a nice 63 330 Dodge 440 motor but it's pushbutton. I promised myself a 4 speed when I retired (soon).

Can anybody suggest a good shop in MA, NH, RI area to get a price for a conversion to 4 speed

Thanks in advanceJack

Funny I wanted a 4 speed all my life (mainly because of the value), now I had one for a couple years, I wish it was auto. I enjoy driving my auto much more. More time to enjoy the drive than paying attention on the gears. But that's me....enjoy.

I have one of each, a 4 speed and an auto, and I enjoy both
I agree with slepr1, some times it's nice to sit back and let the auto do the work
On the other hand it's nice to have that 4 speed when your felling a bit rowdy

I'd start with posting an Ad in the Wanted to Buy section. State all the info and everything you're looking for. Beyond that there's Passon or Brewers to get a complete set-up... Pricey but everything shiny and new!

There's always a handful of guys out there that are wanting a hwy gear so swapping out the 4 speeds for 5 and 6 speeds. (I'm going through this soon but I'm quite far from you)

Good Luck with your swap!

I have both 4-spd and automatic with manual valve body like driving both. You stated you are of retirement age and did not state what engine you wanted to put a 4-spd behind just trying to refresh your memory as the 11" HP clutch can be a knee full to put it lightly. Do not get me wrong I like driving my 4-spd GTX but there are days I am glad the automatic is setting there.
