    Aloha, I just scored ! 440/6pac intake and carbs. I Need to rebuild ! Need a good place to get carb. Kits ? And any help would be great ! Mahalo, C

      Same kit for all 3 carbs ? or 1 kit for 350cc and 2 for 500cc ? sorry new to me ?

      You may also want to look into these base gaskets... They ae 1/4" thick and may help insulate the carbs from heat and vapor lock/fuel boiling...

      Mancini may also carry those, or you could try summit racing or Holley directly...

        All three six pack carburetors are holley 2300 series...

        You will need one for each carburetor, so a total of 3 should be ordered to rebuild all three carbs...

          also was told center carb needs a bigger plunger ? so carb not bog under throttle ?

            The thick base gaskets usually cause the secondary throttle plates to stick....

              The mechanical linkage could be the source of the "bog"... When you try to open the outboard carbs with mechanical linkage and still have the vacuum secondaries, you are going to have problems... That could be why they tried to put the larger 50 cc accelerator pump on...

              I would also put the stock 30 cc accelerator pump set up back on... Then if you still have any bogs off the line, start by trying to change the squirter and then try changing the accelerator pump cams in the center carb....

              I would take the mechanical linkage off of the outboard carbs and get two holley vacuum secondary spring kits and install the small yellow spring in the outboard carbs so they open sooner under vacuum...


              Get them back to stock configuration, but put the a lighter spring in the outboard vacuum pods...



              Those have obviously been worked on by someone who doesn't understand how Holley carburetors work...

              Holley has many videos online to help you understand how to set up the carburetors... Do a search to find them and learn how the carburetors work and how to tune them...

                They shouldn't if the holes are the correct size which they should be if they are designed and made by Holley...

                No, the reason that the carbs bog are they are trying to open them manually with no accelerator pumps on them... If you want to convert them to linkage and open manually, you need to get rid of the vacuum pods and have accelerator pumps with squirters...

                trying to open a vacuum secondary manually without a secondary squirter is going to cause problems and bogs...

                  The deal is sixpack secondary carb bases are very prone to flexing slightly & the thick gaskets make it much worse.... When the base plate flex the throttle plates bind... It can work two ways... The secondaries don't open, or the engine doesn't return to idle, it hangs at around 1,500-2,000 rpm's

                  Trust me, I played with lots of Six-packs back in the 70's & 80's.... even a little in the 90's...

                    All three carbs take the same kit as they are all Holley 2300 series...

                    Yes, one for each carb... Make sure all base gaskets are the same... You want to keep everything even...

                          I've been running Holleys and tuning them since the 80's...

                          Here's my friend's 340 Dart with a 600 vacuum secondary that I built with him and tuned in... Idles at 800 RPM and can break the tires loose by just stomping the gas without brake torquing.... I let off the gas when the back end started sliding so I didn't loose control...
