Looking for advice on head Gaskets, valley pan gasket, intake gasket. I have Moroso (93055) valve cover gaskets already. Going to be getting rid of the K&N Air cleaner and finding a 440 one.

Dyno sheets from previous owner claims 542Hp and 574Tq. CR 10.27

Has 23-710-9 Comp cam
8921-16 lifters
1321-16 rocker arms
L2355f 30 Forged pistions
60929 Edelbrock heads.

Need more info like why are you changing head gaskets, and what was in there previously
Changing them cause I just aquired this car. Its been sitting for a while from previous owner, and is leaking from head gaskets slightly. And just to give it a good once over since its winter here now. Also going to be changing fuel pump gasket too cause its leaking but thats pretty straight forward.

I havent pulled the heads yet to see what they got on it now.

Need tear it down and see what the piston stick out is, measure piston to valve clearance. A typical FelPro .040 type head gasket should be fine but there might be some reason a thicker one might be needed. Or maybe a thinner and add some compression.

Ok. Awesome. Sounds like I am trying to get ahead of myself. Ill pull the thing apart and see whats on there and take some measurments. Cheers

How does it run, drive and sound with that cam? I built a similar 440 with that cam, 440 Source heads, 10:1 JE pistons, etc. but I don't have the car done yet. Did he supply you with the dyno sheets? That horsepower number is a lot higher than I was figuring with that cam.

As mentioned previously: take the heads off and see what you have before you order parts.

Let me help since I just so happen to have the specs in front of me.

Comp Cams Extreme Energy Hydraulic Roller

If it has the blue FelPro 8519 or 1009 gaskets on it now, that's what you should use on it. Two years ago I honed a .030 over 440 with a plate in my shop using a Felpro gasket, knowing that the customer was going to be using them when he put the heads on as I built the short block. I got most of the cylinders down to (.0002") 2 tenths roundness and taper with one or two spots 3 tenths. Just for fun I pulled the plate on the second bank and put a steel shim on it with the plate, some of the cylinders were now as much as 2 thousandths out of round. The thinner Cometics will be similar to the steel shim, but if it was honed and run for a while with the blue, you have to stay with that or rehone.

When I got the car it wasn't running quite right. So I have a buddy that is been playing with old cars tune it with me to show me.(I'm a mechanic but never touched carbs. Fuel injection guy lol) but I want to learn more about the old stuff.
Now that it is running right. It runs unreal, sounds really good too. The roller rockers and lifters are loud. If you want I have videos of before tuning carb and after. Private message me and can figure out a way to get you the videos.

Yea ill be taking the heads off when I get back home mid Dec. Then I'll have it back together in a few weeks parts depending.

No other dyno info, just a blank sheet otherwise? Seems odd to me,more like a simulation with it showing values to 10000rpm.

My hyd roller lifters definitely generate some noise as well.

Sorry. All the info I got really. They did supply part numbers too. Once I'm done resealing the engine up and when summer comes I'm going to get it on a dyno myself. It very well could be simulated. I mean it couldn't be that far off unless the previous owner/builder was putting garbage info in. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
