Anyone deal with 440 Source with having to replace anything under warranty?

I bought my new Mity Mounts from them and my drivers side mount has already broken (separated) after only about a month of drive time. Hoping they are easy to deal with

I have not, but know quite a few folks who have had good work with them in the past. good luck, sorry to hear that ! :(

That's what you get for building a 522 and then buying mounts not made "FER RACIN" ya dingbat. Couldn't resist Goon, never dealt with them so I can't help but I'd try Schumackers Poly Locks or their torque strap. 522 And you wonder why?????

Lol! I took the term MITY MOUNTS to mean their name... Don't forget the recommendation also came from Prop who is keeping his even more potent beast held down with the same mount.

I'll have a look at their torque strap too though it may not be a bad idea

this is good to know... From their website for my mounts

The engineers at Dynatech have taken our most popular mounts (part #101-1063) and converted them into a 21st century design. These mounts provide the best of all worlds: The vibration dampening ability of a stock rubber mount with the torque handling ability of a solid steel mount. These custom engineered mounts feature an internal steel structure which "locks up" under heavy acceleration, effectively turning the mount "solid," and strong enough to lift up the car by! You absolutely WILL NOT break these mounts ever! In fact, they are covered by a LIFETIME WARRANTY for as long as you own the car! Shown below is an outline of how they work. For more info, go to Dynatech's website at: http://mitymounts.com/howtheywork.htm These fit B bodies from 1966-72, C bodies from 1966-73 and E bodies from 1970-74 Sold as a pair only.

Already heard back from 440 Source and they said the warranty would have to come direct from the manufacturer.

So I sent Mity Mounts an email and already got a reply stating "send us a picture of the broken mount and your address and you will be sent a replacement under warranty"

I replied stating considering what it is it's hard to take a picture until it is removed which I am unable to do until I have a replacement in hand... and if they would send the replacement on good faith and I will provide proper pictures once removed.

I'll keep you posted with what I hear back

Mike, I have mity mounts in the Super Bee and added shumaker torque strap as insurance. Something tells me I read that the mity mount was rated for 30% above factory hp/torque specs? I think my buddy has a new pair in the box if needed quick.

I've been mulling over the torque strap now too given how quick I sheared that mount! where did you get yours from? I looked on 440 source for the one 747 mentioned but can't find what heading it's under.

I'll see how co-operative and quick to act Dan from Mity Mounts is with coming good on my warranty... Worse case scenario I ma be in touch with you about your buddies and see if we can work something out but I'm hoping they ship me one immediately and I can get it taken care of.

Thanks again!

Found the torque strap http://www.engine-swaps.com/Pages/ProductsType/TorqueStraps.html

Mity came from 440 source as well. The Shumaker came from National Moparts

Hyrdgoon save her self a great deal of time go to Schumacher and install spool mounts and torque strap then it's over and done with. Don't waste your time with regular mounts. The stuff all comes from India and sucks. Also check your Trans Mount to see if that broke also.

thanks for the post Goon. I'm planning on getting the Mighty mounts too so I'm glad to hear it sounds positive on the customer service so far.

I've heard of potential to break the ears you bolt the torque straps too so you may want to consider that. Never used them or had any actual experience with them myself.

I'll give National Moparts a call tomorrow. Hopefully Mity will just send me the replacement without needing the picture up front... I'm happy to send them a pic but I really want the new one in hand before I start the swap

I will hopefully know more tomorrow

That's nuts man...sorry to hear it. I've had no issues with mine. She's holding up just fine. Got several drag racing buddies that run them, that recommended. Wow...Got an uncaged monster coming out of the hood eh? Hope the warranty flows through well for you Goon.

Thanks Prop! I'm sure I just got one that was faulty or already split somehow. I'll keep everyone posted on how it plays out and just to be safe I'm gonna order a shumacher strap later today.

Latest reply from Mity Mounts..... this may be more of a headache than I hoped

"Hey Michael, you caught me off guard on that one - you're not in the US. You don't happen to have a US 'ship to' address? We are not setup to ship out of the US so for us, that is a manual process and will take a while longer to get that done for you (up to a week to get shipped out)."

this is my reply

"Hi Dan,

Unfortunately the broker is a Canadian address as well so that won't help my cause and I don't have an American address I use as I'm not near a border town. Would it be possible for you to work out an arrangement with 440 Source and have them ship to me as you are there supplier and that is where my initial purchase was from? If not I guess start the process to ship to me it's just very unfortunate I'm losing drive time and out of pocket for the labor on the swap."

Like come on it's U.S. to Canada how complicated can it be!

If they ship and put the value at a dollar and warranty replace it goes through quick and cheap as brokerage is base on value
and it is about time their shipper learned how to ship to Canada
If you have paper in order it is a easy

Goon:

I've run the Schumacker torque strap with stock rubber mounts on my Polara for 3 years now and zero problems....car runs low 11 seconds, has done 160 runs and 2500 miles of street driving, 0 to 60 foot at 1.60 seconds, and weighs 3550 lbs....I highly recommend it

Thanks Splicer and the rest that have recommended the shumacher and Beezee that also let me know the best local place to get it. I have a call in to see how long of a wait to get me one in as they don't have them in stock but it looks like it will be a couple weeks before I can get another engine mount anyways. What a PIA!! I can't believe there isn't one Canadian distributor for Mity Mounts! there's way too many parts and arrangements like this! Our market is huge and there's a big hole right through the middle of it! If I had the freakin time and $$ I'd change that myself!
