Looks like my 505 build , though i ran a solid flat tappet . At 11.0:1 comp not finish tuned made around 675 hp . Went 10.25 @ 3690 lbs shifting @6000 .
This was with #4 main split to both sides of the block and up the cylinder bores .
Best of luck if you are getting on it , especially regular racing .
I lucked into a new World block , its just waiting for me to pull the current 440 and swap over the tf270s and sump

What are your cam specs? I’m planning on well over 700hp with this one.

It looks like the valves and pistons won’t be partying together... this is .453 lobe lift, 1.6 rocker arm, .040 gasket (I’ll be using a .051) and zero lash. Have +.100 on both intake and exhaust.

Love the valley tray for the 270 heads. I wish this setup was available for the 537 I did some time back.

Nice appearing combo
should make nice power too

thanks for sharing details & photos too

No girdle?
Original plan included one. I backed the plan off from a 4.50 stroke to 4.25 stroke since it’ll see some rpm. I opted for the aluminum caps and a scraper instead of the girdle. It’ll be going in a fairly light A-body. It’s not an all out effort, just a nice durable piece. Mainly strip but might see the street a time or two.

Interesting build. Reminds me that when I put my 505 together I spec'd the cam to run a 110 centerline. I ended up having to install it at 108 to get enough exhaust valve clearance. I'm running a .036 cometic gasket and .038 quench.

This one is on a 110 and installed on a 108 as well.

I must have missed it, curious what your compression ratio will be on this 505. Yeah our builds are very similar. I'm running the girdle along with the aluminum caps, lightweight crank. My cam is a custom solid roller as well, 420 at the lobe and running 1.6's. Victor heads, Super Victor with a 4500 carb.

11:1 CR, cam is .452 Comp HXL lobe with 1.6 rockers, super vic and a dominator. I changed out the springs for K-950s. I would like to have run them through a vibratory tumbler to polish them. The finish wasn’t real impressive. I like the PACs better.

Because I want to, because my 70 Roadrunner is a real V-code car, I'm keeping the Edelbrock aluminum 6bbl intake, although at some point I may let Wilson Manifolds tweak it according to any info  IQ52 may give me once I spec out the stroker.
As much as I admire Max Wedge and TF 270 intake port size, I think that would move everything up the RPM range and cost would move up accordingly.
Mostly street cruising, but I want performance on Test and Tune days and nights. I'm sure the TF 240S will get me to 6XX HP and well into 6XX torque with the right parts and design and the 3x2 Edelbrock/Chrysler aluminum intake.

It never ceases to amaze me as to how much power can be made with these little ports. When compared to other big blocks, even the TF270 ports are tiny. The 240’s are barely bigger than most small block heads.

I am lost. I'm guessing that Mopar big block intake ports are a lot smaller than (brand ???)
Why is it that they can be "so much smaller than" other manufacturers and yet put out competitive or superior performance overall?
I don't want to hijack, but I am really curious and want to learn.
