#6 Baker Owens Daytona was at the 1970 New York Auto Show, April 4 - 12th.

Possibly, the current Showcar was built from the Charger 500 that was raced at the Riverside 500. A couple of new pics were added.

a few more posts were recently added: Pic of 1970 Alabama 500 program and an ad for the NY Auto Show.

Latest update: The letter from Darlington Raceway when the car was donated by Chrysler to the Weatherly Museum in 1973.

It also states the car is a "duplicate" of the Southern 500 winner...

Does anyone have any vintage pics of the #6 Showcar Daytona
at one of their local auto shows, back in the day??

Maybe LA, Atlanta??

Drum brakes on a race car. Love it. Gutless today won’t take street cars out without discs.

Back in the day, doing over a hundred on I-94 and had to slam on the brakes.
The 4 wheel 10" drums did almost NOTHING! Had BOTH feet on them!!

Next day, turned all the drums because they had become egg shaped!

11” Drums. Good shoes and adjustment is all I need.
