My 63 Sport Fury has had disc brakes installed on the front by the previous owner. I'm needing to replace the master cylinder. It does have power brakes. Can someone help me in selecting the correct master cylinder. I replaced it once using one listed for a 76 Valiant but it will not hold pressure. I was looking at one for a 68 Fury but I just don't know much about master cylinders. Any suggestions?

No guru here but used a 68 B Body on my 64.
It was for a disc brake car.

Think the MC I have on my 64, is for a 67 Coronet.

Go to a (decent) parts house, and tell them you want a MC for disc/drum, power brakes on a B-body Mopar. They should be able to get you a correct one. That's exactly what I did...though, mine was for manual brakes. Makes a difference!

My question is, what is the disc brakes kit from? If it's from a 76 car, the caliper piston is larger. I think it's 2.75. If so, I needed a larger bore MC. 1 1/32. Wouldn't hold pressure with the smaller 15/16 bore MC.

Wow. That could be my problem. They are for a 76 Valiant. One piston. I have bled the brakes numerous times. If I pump them I can get a small amount of pedal but, in just a few minutes it is gone. Thanks for the advice. I will need to look for a different MC. The new one I just put on is for a 68 Fury. I will have to first check the bore size on this one. Thanks again.

After researching my current master cylinder, I found out that it has a 1-inch bore. Should this be sufficient or should I look for something larger?

I would first measure the diameter of the front calipers. That will tell you what you have, and where to start. You also need a MC with the larger front brake reservoir(The one at the back of the MC).If they are the 2.75 calipers, You should start with a good quality MC for a 76 Valiant with power brakes, but do some research, and find out what size MC bore belongs on a 76 power brake car. Then, when you get one you measure the bore diameter, to verify what you have. If it's correct, put it on. Then check that the caliper bleeders are at the top of the caliper, then try bleeding again.
