Okay where do I start? I bought this super sweet 1963 Chrysler Imperial with a 413 that is so quiet I didn't even realize it was running when I walked up to it. All of the chrome trim is piled in the trunk and it is only needing a drivers side front fender to replace one with a minor crease. It's not that I'm lazy but a dechromed Imperial is not that bad looking and it is a great starter for a mild custom (I only paid $500 for this and thats a STEAL considering the new tires cost more than that!)... What comes next is a possible long ram set up I'm sourcing out or maybe even a super beefed up 413/426 in it's place since I happen to have a fully prepped up 413 block sitting in my garage to swap out with the stock engine. Anyone have a suggestion on building up another 413 into a monster of gigantic proportions??? If you punch out a 413 .60 over does it become a defacto 426 wedge in sheeps clothing? I want to pull up to a red light and have a super sleeper of a unit in front of me but don't know where to start... Oh yeah I don't know sh*t about Mopars, just how cool they look when you get em straight and rust free for $500... Toodles!

Welcome. Cosmetically a 413, 426, and 440 block are all the same (wxcept for the pad stampings and numbers cast in to the sides) so if you want to get crazy, why not score a 440 block and stroke it out. You can get over 500 inches easy, then slap the long ram on top of that (with bigger carbs). It may well be uncontrollable, even in an Imperial with the same weight as the Chrysler building lol

Stuck with a 413...

I'd love to go the 440 route but alas I have this extra 413 block all magged and sonic tested so I'm gonna go with that... My fear is with the push button transmission controls I'm gonna have too much power and seriously screw something up... any thoughts?

Upgrade the whole drivetrain with the motor. The push buttons shouldn't matter as long as the guts can take the torque. And a 413 done right, was feared on the street back in the day, even in a sled like the Imperial. I'd say you'll have a great sleeper when you're done.
Any pics yet ?

Imperials are cool. Gotta build the 413 for torque coz that's one heavy car!

Pics should be up within the month... I'm doing some body work and really think it will be dechromed (Hell it's already been taken off by the last owner...) and the door handles shaved off! I like the mysterious black suede look but a nice form of bright pink or chiffon yellow just to draw more attention to my sleeper.
