Or use a 1965 transmission. It still has cable shift, but uses a slider joint. Of course, you will have to come up with an appropriate driveshaft.

Yeah, I'm keeping my eyes open for one but I don't want it to be what holds me up getting it back on the road. I may just have the B&T rebuilt for now if I can find a good rebuild kit and then keep searching for the tranny and do the driveshaft conversion later.
