Just got done going through my cluster for my yellow Charger. Repaired the el, cleaned all the gauge faces, repainted the needles, also did the ivr3 limiter upgrade, rebuilt fuel gauge. I'm happy with it given what I started with
Thank you, I have a few, I did not keep track whenever I do a cluster I take a long time to make sure there are no mistakes. I probably have 8 hours in this one. Really nice ones that don't need that much work 2 to 3 hours and really bad as long as 14 to 15 hours. It just takes patience and practice.give yourself a pat on the back...... how many hours do you think you have in that?
The trick is to clean them extremely good, than I use wizards mist in shine than over that wizards spray wax. I have had extremely good luck with that process lasting for a long time. I did a cluster 3 years ago and it still looks as good as it did the day I did it.What did you use to restore the black? I used back to black, and I'm not satisfied w it.
It sure is, I do that on all the clusters I do, it's cheap insurance and very reliable. I don't want the work I do to get smoked because someone does not want to spend the 50 bucks it costs, I won't even do a cluster without that upgrade.Good idea to change the voltage limiter.
Mine stuck on one morning on the way to work and wiped out my temperature gauge. I was able to repair it but it reads a little low now.
