Quick question for the gurus of glass. I'm replacing the channel seals and all the other whiskers and seals for the door glass on my 66 coronet (hardtop). Read through some of the threads on here for notes and suggestions of how to. The pins for the sliders that came in my replacement set are a terrible fit (won't go into hole on the sliders), they are very rough on the ends, snipped from a piece of stock and left that way. So, I assembled one without the pins to see how the fit would be, the boss on each slider engages the hole in the glass and everything stays in place. Used silicone spray lube for the channel, and got it together, it is a snug but movable fit. So my question: Do I really need to install those pins? Thx.
