Can anyone help me on this date code on my Dana 60? I believe it is a 66 but wanted to be sure.
D23 5A1 2829 7
I know they didn’t start till 66 model year so I am guessing late 65 for 66 model year but not sure what the D is??
Thanks
It’s actually 602829 , that is your BOM
Your just missing the “60” in front. I’ve seen that before but never seen letters for dates on these. Only numbers. In 66/67 the 602829 was the BOM they used so it’s one of those two years. The first set of numbers is when it was made, the next set after the BOM is the date the rear axle was assembled. Hope that helps....
Guys , 602829 is the BOM for all 66/67 dana 60’s. You can clearly see the 2829 portion of the BOM ( bill of materials). I’ve seen a few of these 66/67 Dana’s missing the 60 beginning numbers. That is not a date code.
I’ve had a few 602829’s in the past, this one is currently waiting to go in a car of mine. The axle was made 12/1/66 and assembled 12/2/66 for a 67 GTX or 67 Coronet RT.
