66 inland shifter

Anyone have experience taking off the shift knob on the inland shifter, read the manual but not that clear and I don’t want to break nothing.

It is threaded on, so turn it counter clockwise to remove.

Inland! The coolest shifter ever. LOL

Maybe I didn’t twist it hard enough, I’ll try again. From what I read all that stuff has to come off to get the boot on.

Yes and the lock out lever needs to come off. That’s a trick getting it back on. There is an Allen set screw securing the lever to the cable. You can see it in my photo above.
