Another set of really nice caps. No noticeable dings, gouges, etc...only very, very minor scuffs and imperfections, most of which will not be seen when installed. Obviously one cap will need someone’s expertise with an airbrush to make it like new...and... ALSO NOTE: 2 of these caps have a slightly taller dome, by 1/4”. Most will never notice, but I tried to capture in pic. $450 plus shipping, but really prefer local pickup on these. Pittsburgh, PA Area
The difference is in the flat area at the top of the cap. I have had a number of those caps in the past and compared them. Some are more curved and some are flatter. I would say there were at least 2 or more suppliers. Frank
Understood Frank but some caps are 10" across and some are shorter. What is the diameter? I bought a set a couple of weeks ago and they don't fit my wheel. My center wheel hub is 10" across. Thank you.
All of my caps are 9” dia. Sounds like you have the ‘66 and ‘67 earlier wheels that take the bigger diameter cap. And for whatever it’s worth, the difference between these two pair of caps is nearly indistinguishable-certainly to most guys-until pointed out. The domes on two are taller, but the area (Fratzog logo) that I believe Frank is talking about are all equally dished on these. Technically-I should maybe change the heading of my post to say ‘68 caps, but I have seen sooo many guy runs these on ‘67’s too, due to the availability of the wider width ‘68+up wheels, personal taste, etc, etc
The caps pictured are all 9 inch caps. Wider wheels for the 10 inch caps are hard to find , unless you get the brand new wheel centers that I had made , then you or someone else turns them into the wheel size you want. Frank
