Got the motor out and had a good look in the case. Not terrible at all.....and spins freely. Issue is, when apply 12 volts....is just hums a bit....
 
If it’s pretty close to the non- AC motor, they come apart pretty easily. Possibly the brushes worn out or something. Mine had a pretty nifty little brushes holder inside and I could secure the brushes back in the clear with rubber bands and clip the holder down over the armature and then. snip the rubber bands off to release the brushes. Making a little sheet metal strip to secure the brushes would be even slicker.
