68 Charger Rear Taillight Look

Painting my 68 and trying to decide what to do with the rear in general on the taillight panel. I am not a chrome fan in any way and would like to at the least, cover it all up and possibly, remove the trim that runs the entire panel altogether.

Are there any non-chrome fans who got creative with how they approached their rear from dressing up the light fixtures in different colors? how did you approach painting the middle area, and on the taillight clusters? Conflicted on several ideas and looking for more inspiration.

Car is likely going to be Gun Metal Grey metallic with thoughts of a copper accent in a couple locations. Thanks in advance!

My taste and yours is likely to offend the purists, but I actually like a dark, sinister look for our already sinister grilles & taillights.

As far as the first image you posted goes, I'm not a fan of the silly notched spoiler trend that's seen everywhere these days...But I like the taillight treatment of that picture.
