I'm looking to buy this car. Found some minor sales history, need to know if anybody knows more about it. https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/ctd/d/bristol-1969-plymouth-belvedere-426-hemi/7425503460.html
Okay let me start over.............I'm looking for prior owner information. I put a deposit on it last week, just trying to talk to a previous owner. Provenance is what I need. I know it's the wrong radiator and hose, looks to be pre 66. I'll be changing out the upper hose. I do know it was not a original Hemi car.
It’s a nice looking car. And it would be hard to build it for less than they are asking. The Belvedere is just the lowest trim level for all the B body Plymouth’s in ‘69. Obviously if it was trimmed a Road Runner or GTX, it would be higher priced.
I snagged this from the video. Code Description RL21 R = Plymouth Belvedere/Satellite L = Low 21 = 2 Door Coupe B96 B = 225 145HP 1-1BBL 6 CYL 9 = 1969 6 = Newark, DE, USA 276926 Sequence Number '276926'
Naa didnt see the actual vin. Posted what I thought the fender tag says. Its what I made out of the blurred image. In the end that portion of the tag is just the sequence number. This is what I thought it said. 276926 But it could be 274026 or it could be 274926 I do believe you are correct on the 4 being there now that I look at it again.
Going to convert it to a negative image to see if I can tell better. Ok checking out the negative version. 274026.. With numbers corrected I also think the code is B95 now here is the result. Code Description RL21 R = Plymouth Belvedere/Satellite L = Low 21 = 2 Door Coupe B95 B = 225 145HP 1-1BBL 6 CYL 9 = 1969 5 = Los Angeles, CA, USA 274026 Sequence Number '274026'
Link to a prior sale- about 1000 miles ago. There is a phone number for a seller that you can maybe call? https://topclassiccarsforsale.com/p...ere-426-hemi-original-paint-and-interior.html Better Tag pic from the other listing. '69 Plant Code is a Letter - in this case "G" for St. Louis. VIN is more clear in this one - 274026. Fairly late '69 build, so headrests would likely be correct. K-frame has '70 sway bar holes in, at least, the bottom plate - can't tell if they go through the top - skid plate is cobbled on. (EDIT: I shouldn't say "cobbled" - it is just a custom add-on for that deep pan...)
Here's another link to a sale that was about 1000 before the last one - 9750mi. In this listing. the car has a 3.23 8-3/4 (you can see the flange and weld in this pic), so the Dana was swapped in somewhere between then and now. There is a contact number on this one, too. https://www.gocars.org/for-sale-view-12739/1969-plymouth-belvedere-in-ofallon-illinois-62269
this is from one of the listings There is also a drive shaft loop and bolt on frame connectors making this car at home on the street or track. I wonder if they blew up the 8 3/4 at some time and replaced it with the Dana?
You mean...the 'donkey cock' if you can call that a hose. The air filter alone must be worth a fortune.
Didn’t want to be “disrespectful” and call it as such. Couple of minor corrections and this car will be lovely!
