69 coronet 2.5" system

my coronet project currently has headers into a 3" piped "system" that is just double mufflers just dumped before the axle. it also appears someone spread the duals out to where they are not in the groove for the exhaust underneath. and they hit on the floor when i drive it.

current plan is to take to a local exhaust guy, have him build me a system from the header flange back with 2.5" pipe, into Hooker Aerochamber mufflers, and out to factory exhaust tips.

i need to buy the mufflers, and need info on the inlet/outlet orientation. is it offset in/ center out or vice versa?

any info is appreciated. thanks!

Definitely go with offset inlet and outlet.

I went with inlet offset but center outlet and my exhaust guy had to angle the mufflers so the tail pipes clear the gas tank.
This is on my 71 Runner.

I believe these guys make the exact fit for the car. My 65 was spot on and fits very well and sounds great.

i am a little hesitant to order an off the shelf kit, because this is a non-stock engine that is in this coronet. its a 400 warmed way up, from a '75 car and it has headers and not stock manifolds.

just wanted to see what muffler orientation i need to get to be able to put together a system.

i wonder if the years make a difference 68-70 b-body may be different than your 71? the diagrams i see on TTI website, show offset in and center out.

Mine has doug's headers so it still had to get matched up at a shop. but all the forming/ hardware along with quality was great.

Hooker mufflers ordered. hoping to get them next week and get to the muffler shop to get it built.

Stock mufflers on a 69 coronet with dual exhaust was offset inlet, center outlet.
