So, I’ve had the Coronet home for a week now. I’ve settled on my plan of attack. Like I said previously, the car was running when I bought it, but since I’ve been home, I haven’t been able to get it to start. I’ve basically ordered everything new for under the hood...wiring harness, electronic ignition, coil, plug wires, relays, etc. As you can see in the pics, the salt air hasn’t been nice to the car, everything is covered in surface rust
Also, the wiring was a complete mess! I figured it’s best just to start from scratch. My only deviation to the original plan is that I’m now going to pull the motor/trans, clean it up, re-gasket, paint and throw it back in.
Here’s some pics.
I also pulled the grill and tail light panel out to clean them up. There’s a lot of green mould/mildew on everything. Also, the tail panel was painted with a brush at one time lol. Everything is in good shape, there’s only a couple of broken posts on the tail panel. Since it’s just going to be a driver, I will try polishing it up and painting it myself.
I appreciate hearing any advice/experience in this regard.
Does anyone know where I can get these pal nuts? They look like they had some sort of rubber gasket or insert. Mostly all rotten away.
