1969 gtx 440 Car was setting for along time. Replaced fuel tank, fuel sender, rubber lines, vapor sepotator, rubber lines fuel pump. Used vacuum pump to check for cloggged fuel line. All steel lines look good no rust. Still no fuel to carb. Any other ideas beside the pump push for. Or bad new pump. If the rod what is the length supposed to be?

Remove the rubber supply line from the frame line at the pump area. Put a clear hose on the steel line going back to the tank. Clear is so you can see the fuel. Use a vacuum pump and try to draw the fuel. Reason for the clear is so you do not draw fuel into your vacuum pump and ruin it. If you get fuel then remove the pump and make sure the push rod is on the right side of the pumps lift lever. You might also be able to remove the allen plug below the pump and see if the rod is there. If it is you know the rod is not working the pump..

We used a vacuum pump with a catch can hooked to the rubber line we had fuel as soon as we turned the pump on. I'll pull the plug on the pushrod next weekend to make sure it's in the right place.if it is I'll pull the push for and check it. Do you know what the length is supposed to be?

well the push rod measured good. what it ended up being is the car has 3/8 fuel lines but the pump was 5/16. line felt tight but not tight enough to seal. one of those stupid issues. no wonder the late owner couldnt get it running
