Thanks for the help. So what is the best way to address this? The plastic clips gave up and I cant seem to find there anywhere. The ones I seem to find are spring clips but they look like they have another piece that fit in the chrome trim to make them work? I bought some plastic clips but they are too skinny, they said they are for 71-74 E,B body I think and I guess they are right. Let me know if anybody wants them.

Go here and see the list of fastners.. The Trim on the 69 roadrunner looked nothing like those.. But her is the link. http://www.rtspecialties.net/products.asp?cat=10&pg=2

This is the type my 69 used.. says for 68 to 70 B-body http://www.rtspecialties.net/proddetail.asp?prod=1001157
Thanks for the reply and the links. So does that clip work directly with the chrome trim? I thought there was a metal piece that metal spring clip slides into/hooks under in the chrome piece to work?

I used 3 clips per side, the square part goes into the trim. The scissor part goes into a hole in the body. I used a pencil to mark where the chrome was going to be placed and then marked it top and bottom. Split the difference and drill a hole. Someone previously filled the factory holes on the roadrunner so I had to guess at locations. Pretty easy though.
