be sure to check the frame, rear shock crossmember, rear window area for rust.Especially if it's been a rust belt car. Make sure the correct seats are there. This affects value greatly. Just by the one pic...I'd say $1500.

From what I see, $1500 would be the MAX.

I don't want to scare you BUT you'll be into that car for $50,000 by the time you're done. A restored plain jane Road Runner isn't worth that so I suggest you build it the way you'd like it.

1500 lol Its worth more than that. If the rails are good and its complete 5 to 7k and if you do your own work it wont take 50k to bring it back.

i do everything myself when I restore and it wouldnt be a 100 oe restorration especially without fender tag. like a triple black car or red with black wheels maybe a12 hood. I'll let the guy sit on it for a while.

It looks like a 5 grand project car to me. I don't see many real RM Road Runner 4 speed project cars in the $1500 range these days, it's not 1986 anymore! If you can get the car for 5 grand or less it's a good buy,if the car has good bones. I would offer two grand as a starting point, and see what he counter offers back at. Have the cash in hand, and seal the deal on the spot. Cash talks!

It probably is worth more than $1500. But there are a lot of IFS, and just one pic, and he hasn't seen it in person. Being able to do the work himself cuts out the labor cost. Major savings.

A 4 speed road runner. How many of those are still around? I was going to say offer 2500. If he gets mad just say "man, I don't really know what it's worth so if you don't like the offer, tell me what you want for it!" Heck, I just paid 2500 for a 96 Dakota and there's still plenty of them running around. Yeah, it's a pretty decent truck but it's still 24 years old. I just hate it when someone asks for an offer then gets all pissy when I tell them a price. Imo, 80% or more of the people asking for an offer have a sweet spot price in mind but I'm going to low ball anyone that says 'make offer'.

I'm with chargervert, cash speaks volumes. Go there with a stack of Hondo's start low ($1000 - $1500) and work the deal from there. I agree with most here, if you can do most of the work yourself the savings is huge. Do a careful check around the known problem areas (northeastern car). If you need a shop to do the job be prepared to cough up 30 - 50 grand or more depending what metal needs replacing. I wouldn't go more than 3 grand... IMO, just looking at one pic and the general description you gave.

Before I go and look at anything used there has to be a price associated with the item. Theres no point wasting time if the guy has visions of early retirement from the profits. The next question is “are you flexible on price”.

don't sweat it. Usually when this happens, a better deal comes along.
