I'm trying to find out when my roadrunner was built. I had the vin number decoded and got the sequence numbers 255149=155148th vehicle.I don’t have a fender tag or build sheet.

Thanks Anthony

You need to post the assembly plant. Someone with a similar sequence number from the same plant could help. Also, if your engine and trans are numbers matching their assembly dates could narrow it down. Wiper motors etc. have dates on them also, but it might be hard to tell if they are original.

The plant is Lynch Road. Yes the engine and trans are matching numbers. I’ll look this weekend.

My car was built there too, about 45000 serial numbers before yours. It was built around January 10th 1969. I could look and get specific if it really matters.

Yes it does matter to me. Thanks

Without a fender tag or build sheet it will be near impossible to determine when yours was built.

So, mine being serial numbered almost 46,000 cars before yours, was built on a January 9th.

Good luck

Car RM23H9A255133 had a Scheduled Production Date of 407. Your car likely had the same SPD.

I called year one to order a dated coil for my runner and the code 407 is 40th week of 1967. Could it be 418.

Here’s a pic of my Intrument cluster. If it’s helpful.

There were a lot of different ways chrysler dated things. The scheduled production date was month, day. April 7 is correct. Some of galen goviers' books lay it out pretty well, and there are others.

Ok no problem.

In the contact of a fender tag 407 is April 7th. The vin will call out the year. These were 1-9 for Jan-Sep and A-B-C for Oct-Dec. then 2 digit day.

When you look at parts like alternators, coils, wiper motors you’ll see things like:

407 could be - 40th week of 67
3006- 300th day of 66
418 on a coil would be 41st week of 68.

You have to take stab at what makes sense with date codes.

I took out my wiper motor today to have restored. The date code is 0559. Does that mean it’s the 55th day of 1969.

There are other four digit date codes that are from the 10,000 day calendar. You will need a copy of that. Your transmission is dated that way as well as some engines. Small blocks and 68 up hemis use this system. You should be able to find the calendar on line, or galen goviers' books etc.
