70 Charger R/T in Cocoa Beach

New to B Bodies and having a Tic-Toc-Tach problem. Runs perfect up to 2000 RPMs then dies..goes to 0. Never to return until I start the car again...Tach was an upgrade by previous owner. Did not come with the car. Did the new tach need a Driver or something?

All that's required for tachometer operation is 12V ground and a negative coil input. Sometimes an original tachometer doesn't work correctly with some, electronic ignition kits. More information needed.
