On a 70 Roadrunner convertible, it "looks" like there should be some window seals for the front of the side windows. It "looks" like the seals would go inside the back of the vent window frame (in the channel where the front of the side window slides up/down).

My car has never had any seals where it looks like there should be some. I just saw a 69 Roadrunner convertible up close 2 days ago, and it didn't have any seals there either....the side windows just sliding inside a bare metal channel.

Should there be some type of seal there? If so, where do I find some?

Post a pic of the area where you think you are missing a seal and I will check on my 70 Satty convertible.

There is a rubber piece that goes there. They are available for 69 RR converts. Maybe called a "quarter window seal", Restoration Specialties.

There is a "V" rubber seal that glues to the quarter window trim. It seals to the door window rear stainless trim. PN 2782560/1.

The weatherstripping that attaches to the front leading edge of the door glass slides up and down with the glass inside the stainless trim of the vent window frame. It is a flocked mylar piece and is attached to the door glass with the two "H" pins or guides which keeps everything in place and helps to properly position the door glass inside the vent window frame. These pieces are discontinued from Chrysler, but NOS ones are available, but very pricey. Reproductions are available, but require much more effort to get them to work as nice as the factory pieces. These pieces were used on a variety of cars and trucks up into the early 90s and are not convertible specific as all of the 66 to 70 B-Bodies used this piece all of the different body configurations.

The quarter glass seals are available as well as a reproduction piece. The seals are a different length for the convertibles as opposed to the hardtop applications. There is also another piece of weatherstripping down inside of the door which very few people replace when restoring a car. It is available as well and will help to keep that newly polished quarter window shining because the flocking does wear off of the originals.

The factory front slides are still available from Chrysler. Walked in and bought a pair 3 weeks ago. They were on the shelf.

69bfan - who carries this piece ?

5wndwcpe, which particular piece are looking for in the list of parts described above. All of the major restoration vendors that stock weatherstripping will offer the parts as described above. Several different manufactures also are available on some of the pieces. Soft Seal, Metro, RSSI, Steele and Top Cat make up some of the different parts. No one company makes all of the different components although several vendors like ourselves stock all of the different components. On the mylar seals, if your paying the money for the Chrysler seals, make sure that they are in the original Chrysler blister wrap. I have known of vendors advertising the Chrysler package and shipping the reproductions.
