In first place i planned to get replacments for the roof skin and the rear quarters because of rust on roof and alot of dents in the quarters (they were covered under a 1/2 in. layer of filler...) since the shipping cost and tax almost killed me when i saw what it would cost, i took the money and ordered a magnum 6 speed conversion kit from sst, last friday it arrived and so i threw the trans on the engine and put it back in the body to see how much cutting is necessary.

Thats how it is looking now...

What do you mean exactly?
How i cutted it out?
The bad Feel about cutting out structural parts?
What im going to do with the lack of crossmember?

No I believe 70chall440 is asking how you are going to overcome the fact that you have removed half of the support for your torsion bars. When the front suspension moves up and down it puts a lot of torque on the torsion bar support. Eventually you will twist what is left of the support right out from under the car. You may need to consider going to a coil over suspension.

To be honest, i were a bit afraid of cutting out that section, but i already knew that has to be done, so my plan is once theres enough clearance around the trans, to put the section customized back in or fabricating an reinforcement, i'm not seeing a probleme here...

Spent some time on fabricating the crossmember, today the last testfit done before welding it in.

You may just have something there. Once you tie it into the remainder of the torsion bar mount I would think you will be good. Nice fabrication by the way.

Today i could finally finish building the "slip on" transmission mount, luckily fits pretty well...
