71-74 Tach Problem

Just got my replacement Tach for my 72 Roadrunner. Waited some 7 months. Took the dash out and replaced my bad Tach. Hooked up everything and to my surprise, the right turn signal light was not working on the Tach. To shorten the story, I found out that the new Tach had a solid piece of green plastic as a cover for the turn signal. The signal was flashing but could not be seen thru that plastic. Lots of work but removed dash, fixed the green piece with my old one and now it is all good. I contacted the vender to inform them of the problem. So if you are replacing a 71-74 Tach, check the turn signal lense before you do all that work. A flashlight will do the trick.

is not posible just to change the lense housing between the old and the new repro ? This lense housing is simply clipped on

I'd be interested to see the factory lense and that lense side-by-side.
They've sold a lota those tachs and I know they ain't cheep. You can't be the first with this issue.
I almost pulled the trigger a few weeks ago. I got other things to buy though...

My picture shows me holding the green plastic that I took out. It is solid. I pulled the green piece from my old tach and glued it in.

I simply pulled the bad piece out of the new tach, replaced it with my old tach piece. Just glued it in.
