For certain one of you guys has dealt with this before. I can’t seem to find re-pops for the A-Pillar on a 71 B body. Need to figure out the best option to repair this. I see there are some A-Pillar re-pops available for E-Bodies. Will that lower section fit? What’s the best way to address this. Recommendations? I pulled the windshield and it’s gonna need a little love there as well…. 633029A4-5BBC-48D4-A187-0B84BC5A40AB.jpeg

I think those areas are solid on the parts car that I am cutting up. I will check tomorrow if you're interested.

Dealing with same on my 71. I bought the E body replacements and gave to my metal guy as an option. He’s about to dig into that part of the repair this week.

Better look at the vent metal as well.

It's been a while, but it seems to me that the post is layered sheet metal and that's how I welded it back. A real pain and I don't think mine was as bad as that. Have you pulled the kick panel off yet.

Had the same issue with my 71 road runner with both A pillars rusted through at the cowl. My body shop contacted Grave yard cars and got some great advice on how to repair. You can buy the E-body A pillar patch and cut off the lower portion with the door mounting holes. Then weld in the patch and the trick part is to duplicate the recess that the stainless corner trim has. To make the recess you have to heat the metal till it gets soft and using the corner trim to push it in.

Yes- surprisingly its OK. Someone was already in there- because there was fiberglass patch with body filler covering it- probably saved the other metal- but took out this area for sure.......sounds like this is going to be a fun repair!!

Remember my saying : " Where there's rust... there's more." Strip out the entire area to localize the extent of the corrosion before you get anything.

Well my metal guy only ended up using the radius corner of the E body piece to keep the shape right. He ended up fabbing the rest of it. Not finished but here’s a before and after.

Let me know how it looks- might be interested in both sides- I have some small holes on the pillar as well, so if their solid I might be interested in a section 1/2 way up the a-pillar and down to the cowl.
                Thanks

Cowl corners are solid with a little surface rust, nothing structural. The pillars were cut just above the cowl but I can send the whole pillar sections. This is a '73 Charger but I'm pretty sure all '71-74 B -bodies are same in this area. PM me if your interested and I can get them cut out this weekend.
