Any way to tell what vintage they are?

Example Motorola Transistors Back In The Day On Chrysler ECU s
The four digit numbers under the part numbers are date codes of when the devices were made. For example 7814 = the 14th week of 1978.
Different Transistor manufacturers might have reversed those four digit date numbers

I just bought these in fall
New Old Stock Standard LX101 Brand New in the boxes
Top ECU is 01 first week of 1987
Bottom ECU is 27th week of 1986
They put the dates on top and the part numbers on the bottom of these Transistors
