yea i just found a decoder that kinda works, was a 400 2bbl car

i'm gonna go look at it. he is asking 24,900.00 I think thats a bit high. thoughts on offers ?

I truly hope no one on here tries to snag out from under me,at least till I get to check it out, hopefully saturday

from seller ..
It has a 383 in it now which wasn’t offered in 72. Bored out, Keith Black pistons, aluminum heads, hearden seats, lifters, timing gears, 750 Holly carb, monster trans, 4 wheel disk brakes, new master cylinder, new vacuum booster, all new fuel and brake lines, hemi leaf springs in the back, msd ignition, plugs/wires, rebuilt front end and new suspension, new starter, new Mickey Thompson tires, half exhaust sounds amazing etc...the list really does go on and on! It’s definitely got all the right upgrades on it. I also have a couple thousand $ in high quality original Mopar parts off a donor 72 that go with the car, as you probably know that stuff alone is worth it’s weight in gold. It also comes with a custom all weather cover.

IMO
nothing wrong with a good 383
you could always doll it up & badge/sticker it like 400
most wouldnt notice unless they started reading #'s

but;
that makes it a non #s matching car
it/that can be a 10%-25% hit, lower-valued
I don't necessarily agree all the time with that logic
it depends on the car or price too
but when buying, it's leverage to use, to get it cheaper

in today Resto-mod world,
many sell for as much if not more
than many run of the mill, widely available/mass-produced
org. cars do
I think it doesn't apply as much, now
(not saying that car is a true 'resto-mod', IMO more of a Day 2 car to me)
That car left the realm of OE/Org. a long, long time ago
it does have some nice parts installed too

& unless you are the diehard 'purist' MoPar VIN & Fendertag worshiper/reader
(nothing wrong with that either) that everything has to match or else
it's still a bargaining tool for the buyers

IF you like it, or it fits what you want to do, fits your budget etc.
who cares if the #'s match, unless it's an investment car

do or offer what you think is right

Just FYI, 1972 Charger Rallye, all #'s 440 Magnum, trans, rear end, etc., pretty much a survivor car, all original sheet metal and interior. I can take a photo of the engine compartment if you like.

Floor shift auto, AC and rear defroster car.

Looks like former AC car deleted. Wheel well trim is missing. Black console ... converted from column shift? Wing is an add-on. Nice to have the Rallye gauges.

Hidden headlights came with the Topper package or could be checked off as an option. Bummer they blacked it out.

"that stuff alone is worth it’s weight in gold." This statement should tell you something. I think 25K is high for that car but in today's world who knows. Decent car but I would need to change/fix several things. Get rid of the GM booster for one. They blacked out the peekaboos? Which rear end ? I'm thinking more like around 15-20K depending on inspection.

Thank you for looking at my beautiful Charger.
The hood treatment is original, as well as the black tail panel, painted with organisol.

That is a beautiful car!

I've been searching for a 71 Superbee and almost bit the bullet on a 72 Charger Ralleye. The 72 was B5 with a B5 interior 400/4bbl/auto car from the factory, then he went with a 400 stroker/auto, N96 hood, hide aways, modern HVAC system and pretty much everything redone...very nice OEM looking car with a lot of nice upgrades. and a bunch of spare OEM parts and pieces.

Seller was asking only a couple grand more then the car you are looking at....so I think the 15-20K max is where I'd want to pick that car up at.

I've been told those pressed metal doors are a big fat soggy deal.

That car is a pleasure to drive. Apparently Dodge was making really nice driving cars 50yrs ago. My 69 is a nice driving car as well, the 72 just different and slightly better.
