Having trouble removing the park cable from the housing on a cable shaft 727. I loosened the pin, but the cable still won't budge even though the spring inside is compressed. How do you remove the pin that holds the park cable on a 727 cable shift transmission? Does it come out the threaded side or the opposite smooth side?

Un thread the nut on the pin till it is flush with the end of the threads. Then tap the threaded end in until it is flush with the housing. Now take a pair of pliers and wiggle the cable back and forth to loosen it do not get carried away with the wiggle and don't forget you have to remove the little pipe plug on the bottom of the housing. Then you reach thru the hole and depress the little spring to the side and then pull the cable out. Several photo's are on the web.
