I have a 727 trying to hook up the transmission linkage . Didn't take it apart. So trying to figure out .if the column shifter is in park where should the transmission control lever be after you hook up the linkages?

What position should the control lever be in. All the way to the back ?

Sounds like a stupid answer I know, but the answer is IN PARK. And no tension on it one way or the other. IIWY, I'd get the back wheels in the air, and verify where you are with the trans end as well as the shifter end.

Transmission mounted shift lever should be all the way back.
