I am looking to replace my factory transmission pan with an aluminum pan. I would like recommendations from someone that has replaced an original 727 pan with an aluminum. Which one is a good one to use. I would appreciate any help.

Be prepared for price shock.

I rebuilt my 727 and used this deep pan from summit along with a genuine Chrysler gasket that has raised lips in the perimeter to stop leaks. It’s can also be reused if needed. That pan is deeper that stock and allows for more fluid, which helps the performance of the transmission. It’s been about two years since and happy to report zero leaks. Transmisión shifts great as well.

Just be prepared for availability and Biden prices.

I would also recommend the lubelocker gasket with the metal core. used one on my a904 when i got a deeper pan and it doesn't leak. As others have said, aluminum pans can be quite pricy so be prepared for that

I had good luck with this also.

I've had the Moroso pan and their blue gasket on for several years now and am very happy with it. Not cheap but USA made and very good quality. It came with a filter extension for the extended depth and has a drain port plus a second port if you want to add a temp sensor.

As a transmission builder you really can't beat these pans. Nothing the matter with aluminum pans. Except they are heavy and expensive.

B&M for my 69 GTX. Zero leaks. Looks and functions like a pan should. Made in the USA as well.

I agree with dvw above, but if you're Hell Bent on an aluminum pan, go to CRT
and get one from John Cope.

I have a B&M pan on my street car. Bought it 20 years ago when 518/46RH stuff wasn't available.

I just purchased and installed a Chrysler product trans pan gasket that looks like it seals great
and has great reviews. Cost me about $32.00 and is re-useable. No sealer!

I can not help thinking that, on a bad day, your pan takes a hit from a speed bump or so.
Aluminium cracks, steel bends, chances for survival or making it home with a leaking pan seems bigger with steel.
An alu pan is likely to have a big chunk broken out, leaving you stranded.

And on top of that is the price, paying big time for something "inferior" for its simple purpose.

Don't qoute me on this, but I believe it was 100 in/lbs. I looked up the torque on a 46RE trans pan gasket, (same pan) and it came down solid!
