727 transmission

The 1965 727 BB cable shift transmission is a one year only with slip yoke. Can a '64 cable shift 727 be used in a '65 if the rear housing is changed to a '65 slip yoke? Thanks

yes but you also have to change the output shaft to match.

I can't remember but there could be a difference in valve body rooster combs-be aware.

'64 console shift VB is the same as the '65.

I know small block and big block VB's have the same casting numbers as well, as long as they are 727's. Also, I think tailshaft and tailstock can be had from a small block unit as well, if you find that easier to locate than a BB unit.
