Has anyone ordered a 4 speed swap from Brewer's Performance? I'm going to be finally putting my new 440 into my 73 Roadrunner this year. It's been one thing after another and I've put it off for several years. I was originally going to go 727 as I got one with my 440 but I would probably have to go through it to check it at least and still need a few more things to use that . Well I got to thinking and might want to go 4 speed. I looked into full swaps and saw some people saying they got kits for 3,000 to 3,700. I had Brewer's send me a quote and I just received it $5,365.00. Definitely was a bit shocked thought I'm sure its all great stuff. It looks like at least $1000.00 of it is a brand new console as I have the auto console now and one of the questions they ask is do you want to retain your console. Are the consoles between auto and standard that much Different? This stuff I'm sure is awesome it says it even comes with carpet. Definitely not interested in spending 2 years hunting down parts but that would be hard to swallow maybe there are some things I don't need or can source cheaper used.

I can’t say nothing but good things about Brewer’s. They are top notch, and they have been in the business a long time. I have never used a 4-speed “conversion kit” before, and have always pieced them together with a combo of used and new parts. The pricing does seem a little high, but that list is complete and with everything being brand new. Probably a fair and convenient deal.

I have not gotten a complete conversion kit from them but the rebuild kits are top notch. I’ve also gotten a bell housing and a slip yoke. I’d bet that list is complete down to washers and fluid.

Have had good luck with Brewers myself, and when they say complete, they mean complete. you can get the counsel cheaper other places, and I'm sure they they all use the same supplier, the trans crossmember and mount are the same for both autos and manuals. you could probably cut your old carpet, but new is nice. Up to you what you want to do.
