My Super Bee is sniffing the 7s having ran 8.10 on three occasions. Its a 915 headed 383, 2500stall, 3.55 gears and 295 dragradials. Im changing the converter now to a 3500 and expect to cross the 7 second threshold. My friends and I are getting together Oct 19th for a little shindig in Alabama called #MoparVsBrandXstreetcarShowdown, several 440 powered B-bodies have already RSVPed. I just want to make sure my 383 can run atleast mid pack against them all! What Motor/Heads/Converter/Gear/Tire set up has gotten your street car B-bodies in the 7s??? Also open invite to you all to come join us!

Oct 19th for a little shindig in Alabama
Just FYI the biggest and best classic car event I have ever been in, and I have gone for years, Cruisin the Coast is going on at the Gulf Coast of Mississippi Oct 6-13th, so if you want to you could slide west one state and check it out. Over 7,000 registered cars!
Jake's drag strip in Danville, AL. Your "rat bee" looks cool and it looks like y'all are going to have fun! Good luck!

Pretty respectable running 383 street car. Don't go cheap on the converter. Some will suck a bunch of power. Keep an eye on your trap speed.

My big sled has run as quick as 7.11, and is as street friendly as any mild musclecar. It’s a basic 451 combo; dual plane intake, flat tappet cam, full stock interior, runs on pump gas. Weighs in at 3850 with me in it. The most “strip” aspect of the car is the fact that it runs a spool (broke a couple of 8-3/4 sure grip units, so......) The only time you notice it is in tight parking lots. Not the fastest street car in town, but it’s legit.

How big of an issue is it with the spool???

What heads, converter, gear???

Heads are Modern prepped Source Stealths, converter is a 9-1/2” Lupo Dynamic custom built for the combo, gears are 4.10’s with a 28” tire

The spool really isn’t an issue to me. You can tell it’s back there if you’re in a parking lot, but it really is just a reminder that you’re driving a bad-*** hotrod, so It’s practically a bonus.

This thing goes 7.60’s
As far as the build, it’s sll stock parts.

so far 7.07 one easy pass, 512 low deck, street car 4050lbs A/C, overdrive.3.54 gear, 68 Charger drive it anywhere

451. 10:1. 3.91’s. PTC 3000

Nice! 451 is a goal of mine for another project. I'm torn on swapping in some 3.91s for the Oct 19th outing... I'll see how the converter acts and what times i can pull down first, assuming i can get it to the track prior to race day!

My 63 has hit 6.83 in the 1/8 and 10.70's in the 1/4. Its a 440/493 with 10.6 comp and I built good quench in it and use a custom flat tappet cam to keep the cyl press so it runs fine on 92 pump. I drive and race it on 92 pump gas. I use the Indy dual plane intake and a Holley 850 DP carb. I drive it to the track also as I don't own a trailer and that's half the fun as long as nothing breaks. And so far since 2011 when I put this eng in its always driven home. I usually race it about twice a year and do mostly all street driving most of the year. Its an auto 727 with a Luppo Dynamic 9.5 converter and 4.30 gears with 30" tall tires. Turns around 3200 at 60 to 65 mph but it don't bother me as it hums right along on the highway like that. Good luck with what ever you decide on building. Ron

A good friend of mine coming out to the Alabama Races Oct 19th in his 67 GTX is closely aligned with what you have going on here... just alittle less conveter and some massaged Stealth heads. I got my conveter and swapping the cam to alittle hotter setup better my chances but... its all in fun we will see if i can fend him off in the 660. Also anyone that can make the trip.... info can be found https://www.facebook.com/austinsmusclecarclinic/

I've been 6's and usally mph ~104mph with the current setup. Good heads and a whiff of laughing gas. True street car with full interior. Took my wife and daughter to dinner the other night in it.
