Ya know, in the summer it’s hot, in the winter, it’s cold. Happens every year.

It does it every year in 'the summer' too

98* right now supposed to 101* by 4pm usually the peak
but we have relatively low
11% is really low humidity, thank god or it'd be unbearable
(IMHFO high humidity is worse than the actual heat, sweating sitting still sucks ***)
except for severe fire warnings/potential shutdown already

worst part is my garage has southern exposure
& if the rollup is left door open, it just gets freaken' hot in there
so I have to leave the door shut, or mostly shut
I use a fan, open the window & side access door
so I get a nice cross breeze, which makes it bearable at a min.
85*-ish in 100*+ weather

I'm a tad bit above the purple **** in that map

Some of the people that live in a region where it gets hot
& complain about it :carrot:

I just cope with it, like I have almost all my life

I'm born, raised & lived in Calif. most my all life,
you can say I'm completely used to it
happens ever year same time same place

& me being a July baby
I like the heat, July 4th is my favorie holiday
but;
once it's over 100*+ thats not as fun as I get older/age
keep turning the damn A/C on, every few hrs from about noon-ish
when it gets to 80* & cool it off in the house some to 77*,
then turn it off
& it takes a few hrs to get back up to 80*
that's about my limit indoors
(I have an elderly parent living with me too, heat affects his health)
gets to be too muggy/humid in the house otherwise
even with ceiling fans going
rinse & repeat all day, into the evenings

tell about 7:00-8:00pm when the sun is down,
or at a min. gets off the asphalt road & driveway at a min.
sun goes behind the ridges (I'm in a lil' valley)
& the decks, gravel, asphalt & concrete all strat to cool off some
then;
I open the doors & let the cool mountain breeze flow thru...

supposed to be 59* tonight, like midnight
it's been warmer at night mid to hi 60*s+ to mid 70*+

I usually sleep with my bedroom door, to the back deck open
nice cool mountain air thru the screendoor

What does that mean??

Yeah....but what doesn't happen all that often is most of the month was several degrees hotter than normal or average....especially in June. We've broke records that were set over 100 years ago and did that many times. Some of the records that were broken were in the late 1800's. What I like to know is what were 'humans' doing to warm up the earth that much around here back then lol. Today's high was 97 and that's still higher than average. At least that's the temp I recorded and I don't live that far from the coast. The 'official' temps are taken at Bush airport and well, that's a place that's full of concrete.....

I remember it being much hotter in my youth...
for a longer period of time, all summer part of spring & deep into the fall

we've had a relatively mild/cool-er season here so far
it ain't over yet
but our late April & all of May even most of June
has been below the A-typical Normal that I remember,
no matter what the weather prognosticators all claim

I don't buy/believe all the new records :bs_flag: allegedly all the time either...

everything is sensationalized (for ratings or an other bias agenda)
now even regular seasonal weather
when there's lots more concrete & asphalt
or tall metal & glass-covered buildings to reflect off of

skews the actual figures/reality

The doom & gloom crowd
oh my god it was 0.5* warmer
for 8 full min.'s yesterday afternoon :jackoff:
(not average temps, like they used to do, & how long have the actual real temps
or accurate temps, have been kept, I'd bet less that 40 years
)
then it was in 1897 or the 1967 record heat spell :blah::blah::blah:

if we've had so many record temps for the past 20+ years,
propaganda that's beeing/has been claimed :blah:
then it'd be 20*+ hotter now, I ain't buying that nonsense...

Fixed It For You.....

I remember 20 years ago in the Central Valley of Commiefornia, during the summer it would be 100 degrees for 30, 40 or 60 days in a row! Now, it’s lucky to be 100 for more than 2 weeks. It was especially terrible when working in the shop at work, fans just blowing hot oven air, sweating so bad your feet are wet, it was awful! So I don’t have sympathy for anyone that complains about the heat. Look at Phoenix Arizona, those poor bastards are burning !!

I hear what you're saying, but it didn't get that hot for that long when I lived in the Puget Sound for 7+ years.

Or when I lived in Palmer, Alaska for almost 4 years
(& a few months in Anchorage) 75* was hot, -10* to -20* was cold
20*-30* was teeshirt weather

Currently almost 5 pm, 112° in the shade on the back porch, 30%humidity, and the four legged kids in the fur coats,STILL wanna chase balls.

But you live in the desert, right? Hit a high here at 97 and it's 93 at 7:15....and 93 is the average high for this time of year.

Yep.105-115 is pretty normal this time of year, here. 30% is a little high, but not bad. Ive seen 5-9% on hot days... It's hot out.... but cool inside.

Still 91 here at 7:30 but the humidity 38 which is low for this time of the day but was 30% a bit ago. The weather here has been nuts this month! It's still kinda hot but I'm not sweating anymore....

Working in the shade is ok. Working in direct sunlight not so much.
