Years ago I was thinking about putting a 392 Hemi in my '64 Belvedere when I came upon one for sale. After checking it out, it turned out to be a 354, and I didn't pursue it further. But, at that time I used the site below for some helpful information - especilly for adapting a 392 to a '60s era TorqueFlite. I haven't been on it in a long time, but maybe you'll find it helpful, too.

Would it surprise everyone to learn that a 392 hemi is over 100 lbs lighter than a 426 Hemi? Compared to the 440, they are about 70 lbs heavier. They aren't "Boat Anchors" as everyone believes, but they are true Elephants! Replace the anchor intake, water pump and housing with aluminum amongst a few other changes I will be doing and you are well under 700lbs and very close to a 440 ;)
 
Welcome from Kenosha, hope your shop heater works well! Good luck with the project and maybe we’ll run into each other this summer (summer meaning when it gets above 45 degrees)
