A833 differences

Hello all
I have a 72 ssp with a 400. I am looking for a a833 Will all years work,should i stay clear of any years, whats the best year to look for?
Car will basically stay around stock Thanks in advance

A 1970 and up trans, or at least the tail housing, will make mounting easier. The mount position changed in 1970.

Watch out for the truck ones, linkages are different I believe, and gear ratios vary among them. Make sure to inspect gears, no rust spots or perforation!
