I finally got a chance to pull a vacuum on my AC system and it held nothing, not even for a short time.
The only place I see dye other than where it spilled all over the place from the poorly designed dye injector I bough at Advance Auto...
...and the minor dots here and there on the condenser...
...is on the male spade connectors on the front of the pressure switch.
This does jive with where I saw the cloud of gas escaping and I know switches do go bad.
Searching rockauto turned up nothing (somewhat surprisingly).
Ebay returns 99% modern switches with plugs.
I did find an OEM Mopar switch but the application list is 1990's only, and it has a black O ring instead of green. It also takes a special tool, like an oil sender socket.
I also found a mercedes OEM part for 1980's applications but it does have a green O ring.
It has a normal hex body for a wrench, but my be metric.
Are the threads all the same?
Are the pressures all the same?
Anyone got a link to one they know works (that ain't more than $20-$30 bucks)?
