Read the ad....it was once real....the seller states ALL numbers are removed....also, states in the ad a "well Known" history....So either someone buys for parts or they think they can find the numbers/paperwork to rebody it....Hence, there is absolutely NO elusiveness of the seller that falls on what the buyer plans to do with it...Yeah, but not quite fair to someone who doesn't have 40 years of wing car knowledge upstairs and buys a bird thinking it's real.
Yeah, but a rut rohh moment for who? Not the person with the rebodied car, especially if it's been titled. As far as the law is concerned, that rebodied car is that VIN. If it has the body tag, and all the parts that are VIN stamped on that body, then that body is that VIN, and no court is going to accept someone coming up with some paperwork, a good story, and a VIN-less body as evidence to rule a titled car is not original.Read the ad....it was once real....the seller states ALL numbers are removed....also, states in the ad a "well Known" history....So either someone buys for parts or they think they can find the numbers/paperwork to rebody it....Hence, there is absolutely NO elusiveness of the seller that falls on what the buyer plans to do with it...
So I do not get your "unfair" statement because the seller stated everything about the car to inform the buyer as to what this hunk of scrap once was and what it is sold AS....Unfair I think not...
Also, the well known history could spin out the car was rebodied and thats a big rut roohh moment for the rebodied car and if someone is trying to rebody this junk...

Ahh I see montclair, my error...apologies..That's what I am talking about, there are really only two reasons to take the tags; one, some person decides to make themselves the "guardian of the numbers" to make sure the VIN doesn't resurface, or, two, actual rebody or intent to rebody.
What this person is selling on ebay is a real bird. Whether it stays a curiosity, or takes a walk through the AMD catalog, doesn't really matter. What does matter is if the "aero community" knows for sure that there is a rebody out there, does nothing about it, and then some unsuspecting person buys it. That's the part that is unfair.
I saw that thing at Carlisle you need a dust pan and broom and just sweep it up there is nothing useable
Exactly, some people think they know what they are talking about but most know this person does not...I wouldn't be so sure. Especially if the fender tag and original title are one place, and the VIN tag is in another, and you can get an expert to testify in court as to what the junker is/was.
