I'm planning to make aluminum door panels. I would like to go as thin as possible but remain strong. What Guage would you all suggest ?
Thanks

That will be a task. Compound curves are not easy to do.

I did aluminum interiors and dragster bodies for quite a few years and seem to remember .032 5052 or 3003 for some reason. It has been a long time.

My best friend did aluminum door panels on his 70 Roadrunner back in 1981-82
I have considered it....

.032 or 20 guage is what l was thinking. They are only flat panels. I think I'll glue some thin closed cell foam on the inside for insulation and prevent rattles. They will be a plain brushed finish.
Thanks for the replies
