I'm not new here and have been a parts seller on most of the sites for 20 + years. I am known in the A body world as Sedanman and I have been a 67-9 Valiant specialist for 20 + years and I had an itchin to have something new so I found a really nice 71 satellite fixer upper not too far from home so I now own it. I am very familiar with A body's and swap ability but clueless on B bodies so you will see me on here looking for advice, parts and swapablity parts. The car is a 71 318 Satellite TX car with column shift, non a/c and 8 1/4 but has a 150 speedo. The car comes with a 400/trans and 8 3/4. I need to pick up a manual because the body shop that did the work took the car completely apart and I need to put it back together. I plan on putting a floor shift column in it. Is an E body column the same as a 71-2 B body? Thanks

Looks like a great car....I do believe that the consoles are the same between e body and b body at least the year you have.....my T handle shifter is out of an e body.

Welcome from Illinois - that looks like an interesting project. Post a picture every once in awhile to let us know how it’s coming along.

Thanks . It should be here in a few weeks. I will inventory what parts are there. He said the body shop bagged and tagged all of the small parts. Is an E body column the same? I have a hurst 1/4 stick for it so I won't be adding a console. I'm going small block for the time being since I have tons of sb parts.

welcome back to the dark-side :carrot:

Welcome. Love the 71 up B Bodies in all versions. Your car designed by Chrysler Designer and visionary John Herlitz. In Clay. On the heels of his home run design, the 70 'Cuda.

Looks like a good project. I think you'll like the B-body.

I know I will like having more engine bay room than an A body for sure
