Returning the Mancini unit for a refund. Found a guy that restores old original units. Will keep all posted.
I was thinking to just install this one so I can send my original off to have it restored.

Did they give you an estimate on the cost to restore it?I recently sent the original off to Desert Classic Parts for restoration.
My restoration was $125 as they needed to use part of another sending unit to complete the job.Did they give you an estimate on the cost to restore it?
I concur thats where mine is going as soon as I pull it. Bill is great there.My 68 Coronet Station Wagon's sending unit stopped working and I replaced it with a unit from Vans Auto Parts quite a few years ago. The gauge readings are as accurate as the original when it was working. I recently sent the original off to Desert Classic Parts for restoration. My reostat was in very good shape but the brass (I think) contact strap was gone. They sent me full and empty readings prior to sending it back to me. I will keep it as a backup should I need it. Turnaround was quick as well.

not too bad but the float had multiple cracks in it and filled with gas. likely one of the main issues. Sending off to Desert Classic Parts for restoration.That’s in good shape.

Thanks for sending that table. I think a 22awg Cu wire has a resistance of 0.016 Ohms/ft whereas a 304 stainless 22awg has a resistance of 0.695 Ohms/ft. I heard the new I6 Hurricane twin turbo electronics are so sensitive that a ground resistance change of 0.2 Ohm can cause them to glitch. That new stuff is too sensitive! An old Mopar fuel sending unit range is about 10 ohm full to 72 ohm emptyJust as a note:
1) Silver is rated at 105% for conductivity and 1.64 u/Ohm per cm (49.99 u/Ohm per foot)
2) Copper is rated at 100% for conductivity and 1.72 u/Ohm per cm (52.43 u/Ohm per foot)
3) Gold is rated at 70% for conductivity and 2.46 u/Ohm per cm (74.98 u/Ohm per foot)
4) Cast Steel is rated at 10.70% for conductivity and 16.03 u/Ohm per cm (488.29 u/Ohm per foot)
5) 304 Stainless is rated at 2.39% for conductivity and 72.0 u/Ohm per cm (2194.56 u/Ohm per foot)
