Guys, my dad, who is going on 93, has a garage full of wood working tools. He has a Shopsmith mark 5, and all the attachments. He's no longer able to do any wood working. And has no need for the tools. He wants me to have them. Though i have no space for them all. I've suggested that he sell them. I looked on ebay, and have seen prices for this used system ranging from $200 to $4200. Is there anyone here familiar with Shopsmith, that could help me narrow down the asking price range ? I have no idea what to go by, nor do i have any idea of the value of the other tools. Or know of a better place than ebay to advertise them. I've considered my local craigs list, but haven't posted yet. Some of these tools are over 20 years old, and never used. He also has a gorgeous oak pool table, that needs to go. I just don't want him to be shorted.

i just helped a disabled vet sell off his wood shop tools and equipment.
i ended up finding the buyer on facebook marketplace, and checked him out thoroughly.
he was more than fair and bought the entire shop out and paid in Cash.
im not sure how far this guy goes, but you are next door in ohio if you want me to ask him??

Selling it all, at once, would sure make things easier. Yes, please ask him. If interested, please pm me. Thanks for the facebook suggestion too !

Shopsmiths were a gimmick. The woodworking equivalent of "it slices, it dices, makes julienne fries. change the dial from dice to slice - turn firm fresh tomatoes into thin tempting slices".

A couple tips ... FB Marketplace seems to be the hottest place to sell stuff these days. Look at the average prices and put yours slightly higher. Make your ad interesting and detailed. Just putting "For sale - Shopsmith" will get nothing more than a cursory glance. You need to get their attention and then convince them your item is worth more than the others. Clean the unit up then post LOTS of photos including all the pieces that go with it.

prices are all over the place on these. condition, attachments and extra blades bits and sanding disc help. just have too look at other ads comparable to what you have .ive seen the go from $200 in sad shape to $2,500+
